Hi All,
Just so you know, we scheduled Noah's first major surgery (poop plumbing). It will be August 19th, and he will be hospitalized for 3-5 days. He also has an abdominal MRI under general anesthesia next week. The week in between those is when Zoë gets her casts off and starts to get fitted for prostheses. The week of Noah's surgery she'll get fully fitted (final measurements) and they'll order the prostheses. Then, the week after Noah's surgery she'll get her prostheses and start learning how to use them. Sometime in September, Noah will get his second major surgery, which will hopefully be it for a while. If things go well, he'll have a final surgery several months from now, after which both of them will essentially be done. At that point, Noah should be pretty much a "normal" kid, inside and out. Also, Zoë will be normal to the casual observer, and should be able to do essentially anything the other kids can do (run, jump, climb, ride a bike, etc.).
So, we have a lot of excitement ahead, but it should be over with soon enough. God is gracious and will be faithful to bring us through it. However, please keep praying!
Bye for now,
Josh
