Hi All,
Noah's exam under general anesthesia went extremely well. Better than we had hoped. We won't get into details, but the results were such that it is possible that he will only need three surgeries instead of four. Better yet, the really awesome news is that his prognosis for a normal life after all the surgeries is VERY good. That was far from certain. It now seems very probable, according to one of the two doctors who examined him. We are very thankful to God for that. God works wonders!
This week, we also met with the prosthetist we hope to go with. He showed us the various prosthetic feet Zoë could use. He also checked our insurance, and, again may God be thanked, we have full coverage for anything they propose giving her. That is great news! [For those curious, yes, of course, we had some idea what our insurance would cover. However, the insurance company wouldn't tell us a specific list of devices covered, or a dollar amount limit. Evidently there is none, and all the devices under consideration are approved.] Zoë can therefore get the best there is, and we don't have to pay for it. The prosthetist also said that she should be able to have her "new" legs about two weeks after her casts come off in mid-August. Of course, she'll have to learn how to use the new legs, but that is still very good news.
Bye for now,
Josh

Wow!!!! What wonderful news on both kids. God is so good. I know you probably keep hearing this but it is so true. Great to see the pictures of the kids. They are all changing so.
Tammy
great to hear the news and to see the adorable photos of all of the kids! very exciting prognosis for both sasha and zoe... our son wants her to "get the REALLY fast legs!" if you don't mind me asking, what happened to her legs? i don't recall reading about them in your blog, perhaps i overlooked an entry... no worries if you do not want to write about it.
warmest regards,
rachel
